Emergent Designs is a graphics production company, supplying services to the art, photographic, design and marketing industries. We print, laminate, frame, and make acrylics of unsurpassed quality. We also produce displays, signage and point of sale materials.

We pride ourselves in supplying only the highest-quality, finished products. Our experience over 30 years in all aspects of graphic finishing is the key to our business.

Emergent is trade friendly. We supply our services to numerous trade partners, all supported by genuine trade policies. We work with photographers, galleries, framers, printers, marketers and agencies.

Emergent Designs started business in 1988, based on new and innovative ways of displaying large posters. We invented and commercialized a lightweight block mount, which we called ‘Artmount’. Out of this patented idea, a backyard business was formed which quickly grew into a significant commercial venture. We established a major factory production centre in Sydney and production licensees in Victoria, Queensland, New Zealand, Malaysia and Canada. Today the success of the product can be judged by its generic use in almost every display and point of sale environment.

By 1993, we had a significant presence in the large format print industry supplying our mounting and laminating services and by 1998, we moved into brand-new facilities in Rosebery.

There we occupy 1000m² with state of the art laminating facilities, supplying printers, photographers, artists, advertising companies, government agencies and major corporations.

By the 1990s, we had assembled an impressive team of highly skilled technicians and our expertise was called upon for building custom designed display stands and point of sale units. We installed a wood and plastic fabrication workshop and CNC router. With these facilities, we can produce fine custom-built units of all types of designs. We also installed a full sign making facility in 2002 to complement our display business, and to date, we have the capacity to do all types of printed, 2D and 3D signs.

In 2006, we added a design and printing service to now offer a complete display service from design, print, print finishing and display building. Our strong base in construction and hand skills enables us to provide completed products of exceptional quality and finish.

Acrylic mounting is a very specialized form of photo mounting. Emergent has been involved in developing acrylic mounting and in 2010 we launched our range of acrylic products for photo mounting. This included our Acrylic Float Frames, Acrylic Blocks and Acrylic Stands. In 2018 we added Acrylic Artframes to our list of acrylic products.

We have been developing our fine art framing over the years and today offer an extensive range in fine art framing. Our frames are of unsurpassed quality. We can make very large and unusual frames leveraging off our skills in mounting and fabrication.

We celebrated 30 years of service to the industry in 2018. We will continue to develop our unique set of skills as well as supplying quality products to our valued clients and partners.
